Millard Fillmore: Biography of a President by Robert J. Rayback

challenging informative medium-paced

3.25

One of the toughest presidents to write a biography about, due to the lack of primary sources connected directly to him. This book succeeds reasonably well in spite of that, although it in turn fails by being a bit too fawning, too praise-heavy of a president convinced that the best way to save the Union was to do nothing to save it.
