honestly, about 100 pages into this book i almost put it down and grabbed a new one but i decided to get through it. and im actually glad i did. the second half of the book was much more engaging and i got through quickly. my main issue with this book was jack, he seemed to be more of an idea of someone rather than a developed character. like an outline? grace’s fear and desperation was easily felt so there was such a stark contrast between the genuineness of the characters. also!! as someone who was not aware please be advised that there is animal abuse in this book and if you are very sensitive to it the way i am i would definitely not recommend.
