To Shape a Dragon's Breath by Moniquill Blackgoose

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
I DNF'd after 30% for a few reasons. 1) I'm not sure how a book about dragons could be utterly and unequivocally boring, but it is just that. And (2) the fantasy story gets lost in the messages about our world. The story would have been much more impactful and made much more sense if I got to experience a thorough world-building of the island, then one of the mainland separate from an islander's perspective. And only after understanding both worlds individually of one another then I experience those two worlds colliding when the main character comes over. I would have liked to get to know the main character and her island home much more thoroughly so that I could fall in love with it and her. If I cared about her and her world, I would care about the issues she faced, and I really wanted to care because they are important issues in her world as well as our own.
