This was a twisty story with a lot of characters and a lot of uncertainty. I think this was a much better book than A Line to Kill because I was getting impatient in trying to find out who did it. This definitely was on the same leave as Anthony's first book, The Word is Murder.
What makes this story unique is the break in fourth wall where our author is part of the plot itself. I will forever love it. I like how it was made to feel like it's a possibile story that can happen in today's world. I will also say, if you're looking into getting a murder mystery but aren't a big fan of the gore and heaviness some detective books can come with, try giving Anthony Horowitz's books a go. It was a murder mystery but made lighter with the jokes and writing style.
The story for this who done it was very interesting, with a wide variety of characters and a not so likable victim. Taking place with the theme of theater and the death of a review critic, this story managed to deceive me with my final guess of who did it. There were some parts that I guessed but I did not guess the main one of who was the murderer.
I also enjoyed the continuous mystery of trying to get to know Hawthrone better as a detective. He's such a secretive person that is has become a goal and a need to find out who he is throughout the series.
The Twist of a Knife was filled with a lot emotion. It has been a while since I've felt rage with how our main character was treated but I'm happy with how it ended. It was another fun adventure of trying to figure out who the killer was and I'm once again excited to see where this series will go.
