A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult

2.5

You can certainly tell this was a well-researched book, but it felt like nonstop Pro-Life/Pro-Choice rhetoric without a super in-depth storyline. It was interesting because it brought a wide variety of backgrounds and scenarios from both sides that are intended to make you empathize with both sides. I also wasn’t a fan of the reverse timeline narrative. My favorite part was the author’s note at the end when she was summarizing her research. She said if we offered more financial support through healthcare, child care, education, etc., people would likely be less likely to get an abortion.
