If You Hate Me by Helena Hunting

3.0

3.5 stars

I'm generally a big fan of Helena's, although unfortunately, this book was a hit or miss for me depending on the chapter.

What I liked:
- The banter for the most part
- The friendships and side stories kept me interested
- The angst and tension - at the beginning
- The smut was spicy spicy
- The tropes
- That it was set in the Toronto area

What I liked less:
- The number of smut scenes. I'm a romance girlie and I like smut just like everyone else, but I felt that there were too many scenes and that while they had chemistry, the smut was over the top sometimes and hindered the character development
- When the banter turned particularly mean/childish
- Too much miscommunication
- Flip: I liked him at first, but found him to be tiring by the end

Overall, this was not my favourite romance, but if you like smut that's extra spicy, enemies to lovers and brother's best friend, this might be right up your alley.

Thank you to Good Girls PR and Helena Hunting for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
