This was a heartbreaking story of family domestic violence that needed to be told. It was a very realistic depiction of the cycle of violence and how it tears families apart if forgiveness cannot becomes impossible. There were moments when I was angry then sad then ultimately heartbroken. When anger is all you know, your choices in life reflect this and your life is lived unfulfilled. Kyung's life was exactly that until the very end. It is sad but many times the cycle of violence is only broken when tragedy arises. This was a fantastic debut novel.
