Chase Our Forever by Kat Singleton

5.0

One last visit to Sutten Mountain left me in all my feels. From the moment Liv appeared on the page, I wanted to get to know her. She was closed off and elusive and it was evident that trust was a big issue for her.

"Being happy means I have something to lose."

While we didn't get much about her past, Liv thrived with Clara and Dean. She found comfort and peace, family and love. And while it seemed like Liv didn't get much in the way of nurturing as she grew up, she was loving and nurturing to Clara. Liv and Clara were attached at the hip from the moment they met. Maybe it's because they knew how much they both needed each other. That surprised Dean because Clara didn't trust anyone but the people she knew. Dean, on the other hand, was wary. His protectiveness of Clara and soon of Liv was so over the top. At times it felt stifling, but once he revealed his reasons, it all made sense.

"She's my sunshine on a cloudy day, and I hadn't realized how much I missed the sunshine. How much I really needed it...until her."

Liv and Dean weren't looking for love. Heck, they weren't even looking for happiness. But somehow the sun and the rainbows shone through to show them how much they deserved happiness and love.

"Family doesn't have to be blood. It can be the people you choose...the people who choose you."

Everyone on Sutten Mountain sure does know the meaning of family. They've created one filled with laughter, happiness, and love. I'm sad that this series has come to an end, but I look forward to what the author has in store for the future.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
