I’ve not read something like this before, but I feel like Andrew may have crawled into my skull. The personifications in this book are astounding, as well as the imagery. I can’t even count the amount of tabs I have in this book marking sentences so beautifully and magically crafted I had to reread them right after reading them the first time.
Andrew manages to give her characters both unique “qualities” and incredibly surreal personalities. Not a single person felt flat. Not a single bit of dialogue felt forced.
I give this 5 stars because I couldn’t put it down—even from the beginning when the reader was clouded in ambiguity and well after we weren’t. I rated it a slow pace because I felt that’s what Andrew wanted, especially when you meet and get to know one of the main characters.
This was a pleasant surprise for me, this peculiar story about peculiar people. I have found kinship with them, and thus, Andrew in relation for creating it.
