I don’t understand how some people don’t like this book! It's literally so great – Maybe I am biased because I just finished it and haven't read the second one (the so-called best one) but this was amazing. The way that Evan and Stevie met was such an amazing idea and really added to the plot. I don’t normally like books that have third-act break ups but in some books I feel as though they are necessary. This was one of those books. Evan and Stevie needed to be apart from each other to both work out as much stuff they could to be together in my opinion.
The character develop was a well needed *chefs kiss*. I’ve read other reviews where they talk about the amount of repetition here and there in this but I truly didn’t mind. And in truth I get that why they were inside the book, it truly shows how some things just don’t go away even if you try to tell yourself that they will. Seeing how both main characters work through their struggles made this feel even more real. I love reading books where I have so much of a connection with characters and plot lines that things start to feel more real to me. That’s truly the best part of reading – getting transported somewhere new. This book only increased my love for hockey and romance.
SIDE NOTE: I JUST WANNA SAY THAT I LOVE WHEN GUYS STICK UP FOR THE WOMEN THEY LOVE! Especially if they punch the guy who was disrespecting their girl. I will eat that small detail up EVERY SINGLE TIME! I don’t care how many times I read it, it will always be fantastic. Plus it's even better when the girl doesn’t put on the act of “I don’t need you to fight my battles for me.” – LIKE GIRL! SHUT UP – LET ME ENJOY MYSELF!
-This was one of the best catchphrases in a book ever! It holds so much passion and memories between the two main characters and every time one of them said it my heart did a little cartwheel!
Not gonna lie…I am excited to read the second book not only to get back to these characters but to also get back to RYAN and INDY! Seeing their love form here and there was so sweet. I can’t wait to read 400+ pages about them!
And of course I can’t forget about Rio, he is definitely my heart – he was such a loveable character and in my opinion I needed more of him. He was written as such an award winning side character.
In conclusion it is safe to say I will be reading every book in this series with no shame.

“I thought the scariest thing would be losing Chicago, losing my fans, but I was wrong. The scariest thing is losing you.”
