I might have liked this book even more than the first one?? I don’t know, it’s a close call. This book is much more character-focused than the first book, and I loved it - I’m not sure I’ve ever read a fantasy romance book that so fully delves into the main character’s past and feelings and relationships. Oraya’s realizations about Vincent and reckoning with what she didn’t know about him and what still remains true is really moving and interesting, and I am obsessed with the evolution of the trust and love between Oraya and Raihn. I also really enjoyed Oraya learning more about who she is and her capabilities. Overall, I’m sad that Oraya and Raihn’s main story is over, but I’m excited to follow Mische’s story next and learn more about the world.
