I hate to give this 2 stars because I generally liked the story (Arafel carried it for me). There is just a lot of polishing that needs to happen in the world building and, especially, the overall editing. I was quite distracted by the number of grammatical and formatting (kindle) errors every few pages.
I’m glad I ended up finishing the book because I think the ending was much stronger than the beginning. I am excited to see the writing mature throughout this series.
