This was a really interesting premise and I think it was well done.
Personally, I figured out all of the "big reveals" before they happened, which sort of spoils it, but I think that has more to do with me than with the book or the author. If you know what tropes to look for, the telegraphing is clear - but they were good tropes that worked well for this story and I think the author handled them nicely.
The characters are relatable and the emotion feels real and I definitely enjoyed the ride.
