I don't really know how I feel about this book. The first half really gripped me. I was excited to see not only how Morgan would grow as a character in such a horrible situation but also unravel the mystery between her and Alpha's instant connection.

Morgan developed into a great character by the end of the book, but as for the mystery of Alpha and the other super soldiers? We really don't get any solid answers. A lot is left unexplained.

My biggest issue is that this book was dark. I mean, if you read the synopsis, of course, it isn't gonna be an easy read. But I wish the author would have put trigger warnings at the beginning of the book. I got blind sided by a very graphic scene that made me have to take a break from the book. Once I was in the right headspace, I managed to finish the scene by skimming through it. I wish I didn't go into this book blind. It's just that... I never had to check the reviews of a book before in order to be warned properly. After this ordeal? I've learned my lesson.

So please, I encourage you to check the trigger warnings.⚠️

Despite all this, this book did end with a HEA, so that something, at least.🐥💕
