my post christmas holiday reads continue with this thriller novella from the mystery king himself, peter swanson!! 🫡
I will continue to read anything he writes … even though this was a casual pass for me…
the diary format of part one of this book really intrigued me and got me into the vacation gone wrong type of mystery - until part two came along and completely pulled me out of the vibe. I almost wished that the diary or a similar format continued, even with the plot twist, to keep the entire story more cohesive.
at the end of the day, the story was just barely fleshed out, and I could totally see myself LOVING a full length version of this. but there wasn’t enough behind this one to get fully invested in!! even though the plot twist totally threw me for a loop…
rating: 3 stars
wine pairing: finger lakes cabernet franc
