Jane Eyre was so much better than what I expected. It is a longer read than some books of the same length because there is a lot of introspection on Jane's part, as well as monologues from all characters at any given time, which slows down the timeline.
Even so, I liked the characters much better than I thought I would and some of the very blunt things said by Jane had me laughing out loud in public.
