A Different Kind of Gone by Catherine Ryan Hyde

4.0

This book will make you think, what would you do if faced with this decision that will change your life going forward? do you choose the well traveled smooth road or take the muddy ones with many turns, ruts and dead ends and detours?

Norma is a volunteer for the search and rescue team. She is called out to search for a missing female who was seen being abused by her boyfriend. When she finds her, the girl begs her to keep her hidden and even though she is conflicted, she agrees. ( we will understand her viewpoint on this when she discusses her past)

As the book cover states, she delivers Jill to her parents and the lies begin. She has to keep looking for a missing female who she knows is hours away and safe. She also warns another female to stay away from Jake ( the boyfriend of Jake)

Through the years, the lies keep building until one explosive day when it may all come tumbling down.

I have issues with how the situations are solved. It is a good ending, just not completely believable
