I love romance books like this, there was no violence, no cheating, no miscommunications but a book about two people who fall in love and experience serious problems. I love the marriage in trouble trope. I always want the couple to resolve their issues and find a way back to their loved one. This book was told in a very interesting way. The author breaks up the first part of the book by having the MFC Avery retell the way she and Gabriel met and fell in love. Now between these chapters are her therapy sessions discussing these memories. I freely admit I’m a reader who does not like when a author uses flashbacks to tell the story but this was the best way to tell the story along with the therapy because we got her thoughts on the past. The first part of the book is strictly Avery’s POV. The second half of the book is after therapy and the incident. I prefer to provide spoiler free reviews so I will not explain why the marriage is in trouble. And I think this book is best read without the reader knowing exactly what happens beforehand. Now the second part of the book moved a little slower than the first and we actually get Gabriel’s POV too. I loved how the second part of the book kind of mimics the book. All through the second part I kept wondering could the relationship be repaired? This book made me mad, angry, and annoyed but I enjoyed every emotional moment of reading this book.
