Bride by Ali Hazelwood
5.0
"He shakes his head, eyes burning into mine. 'You're not a problem, Misery. You're a privilege.'"
I've only read one other book by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoy paranormal romance and figured it would be for me. I wasn't wrong. I didn't want to put it down and in fact I barely did, I read it in one day.
I loved Misery so much, so sarcastic and such a baddie. The lengths she goes to for her best friend was so touching. Lowe, he stole my heart and it's cool, I don't want it back. The way you could FEEL the tension roll off the page with these two. Oooof.
I thought the world building was really balanced, not too much information and nothing lacking in explanation. The plot was interesting, it held my attention the entire time. Arranged marriage, friendship love, fated mates, paranormal royalty, mystery, found family - what's not to love?
If there are more to come, I will be reading!
