The Lore of the Evermen by James Maxwell

5.0

I don't know that I liked this book better than the other three, but I'm going to go ahead a five star this one. I loved all the houses coming together to fight evil. By this book I was totally invested in the series, I've gotten to know the world and the characters, I was happy with the wrap-up of it all, and I'll look back on this series very fondly!

... notes for ME

Book 1: Introduces the world, mainly Altura/Enchanters to start. The Lexicons, essence, the Tingarian Empire, the war, a bit of the Evermen. Follow Ella and Miro mostly, also Killien, Amber and others. Love triangle Ella, Killian, Prince Ilathor. The primate wanting a world of unity, w/o lore, the "taint" and the black army, refugees, the ultimate confrontation.

Book 2: The war continues. Essence running low. More background on the houses. Pick up on what happened to Rogan and Amber in addition to Miro, Ella, Killian, Evenstar, Primate Melovar. Introduction of "the hidden relic" ... Ella and Shari kidnapped. Introduction of the exiled Akari. Hazara conquers Petrya by freezing the boiling lake. Miro's attack, liberation of Halaran (colossi, ironmen, enchanted bows ... the resistance). Akari's army of the dead, the Sentinal in Seranthia. Confrontation at the portal. Killian goes through ... epilogue, someone comes out ...

Book 3: Sentar/Lord of the Night. Miro and Amber's wedding. Miro and Amber's quest, discovery of new lands, trials getting back home. Ella's quest to rescue Killian, discovering WHO Killian is. Uniting the land, war coming, essence again flowing.

Book 4: All the lands banding together to fight the "Lord of the Night" and his army of the dead. Anticipating and prepping for attack. The final battles.
