i really intended to write a long review, but lately words have escaped me..

honestly, the best part of this book was the mmc. the first 25-30% felt like a whole different book with unnecessary filler and it made me contemplate dropping it a few times, but once the mmc was introduced and became a bigger part of the story things got fun. i did enjoy the gothic elements and the romantasy of it all as well.

my biggest complaints are just the absurd amount of world building in the beginning and the anticlimactic ending. the plot was very predictable and it made me crave a crazier ending. honestly might’ve enjoyed it more if it wasn’t a HEA.
