In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
5.0
This was such a good book! Truman Capote is a talented writer and the Clutter murders were interesting to read about. There were moments I had to take a break because my poor empathetic heart couldn’t take it, like when Nancy’s boyfriend was grieving, but that just goes to show how well written this is.
You follow along with the lives of the two culprits following their crime, and while reading you get pieces of their psychology and possible reasons why they could’ve done this. From childhood traumas and bedwetting to paranoia, not handed to you as a reason why but casually mentioned as having existed, as being built into the characterization of the person. So psychology students, forensic science/forensic psychology students, and just regular crime novel fans will enjoy this book.
