This is one of those stories that truly does not have enough hype. Seven ratings here? A dozen on GR? Unacceptable.

I guess that's a tiny bit on me, as I bought the PDF last year, but waited to read it when I saw there was a crowdfunding effort to get physical copies. Having read a few other things by this author/illustrator, I pledged to get a copy and waited to see what would happen. The funding didn't happen, and I'm easily distracted, so it took me a while to circle back to this, but it was worth the wait.

This is a super fun paranormal adventure filled with snarky banter and a whisper of real feelings around the edges. The art is fantastic, the color palette gives a feeling of the time period and allows the more intense scenes to stand out with the splashes of bright red. Helianthes is a sad boi that everyone thinks the worst of growing up, so he decides to give everyone what they want and then some. Elias is an uncanonized saint to put up with Helianthes' shenanigans (but that's what
we do for the ones we LOOOOVE.)
