im so mad that i ended up not liking this book (and giving it 3 stars instead of less simply for being a tolerable summer read that gives off warm vibes)
the first 100 pages were really good, i liked january and LOVED gus.
then… it started getting boring and too repetitive - miscommunication every second chapter, the mentioning and same description of january’s cheating father and his fallen marriage. i can only read about the same event so many times without getting over it
january becomes insufferable after 100 pages, starts getting too insecure to the point of getting mad at gus when he has a slight change in his mood. also ignores him because his ex decided to show up unexpectedly at that one event and he goes to talk with her in order to see what she wants? after that, january’s dad’s mistress has a long talk with her, january reads the letters her dad wrote to her, january’s best friend visits her, january makes up with gus and they live happily ever after in a matter of like 25 pages
this book had potential but ended up disappointing me
