Cloud White by Fearne Hill
5.0
Since reading Two Tribes, this author has quickly become one of my favorites. I said it in my previous reviews of her books, and I'll say it again, her writing style is absolutely wonderful. I've been lucky enough to read many incredible authors, but [a:Fearne Hill|19829861|Fearne Hill|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1670222977p2/19829861.jpg] also has the talent to describe emotions in such a way that little by little you are immersed in the stories until you end up feeling deep inside what the MCs feel. Another great talent of this author is the diversity of difficult topics that she touches on in her books. And the way she does it. No matter how hard the topic, the sensitivity, knowledge and care with which it's treated, it's indescribable and perhaps the most remarkable.
I've been waiting to read Mungo and Milo's story since [b:Cloud Ten|63843662|Cloud Ten (Nailed It! #1)|Fearne Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1669439963l/63843662._SX50_.jpg|99081303] (Frank and Lysander) even though in that book and the one that follows ([b:Cloud Nine|123445437|Cloud Nine (Nailed It! #2)|Fearne Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1679574185l/123445437._SY75_.jpg|99261576]- Tristan and Dom) they were only side characters, you could perceive much more in them. [b:Cloud White|63333337|Cloud White (Nailed It! #3)|Fearne Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1689883686l/63333337._SY75_.jpg|99261624] is the third book in the Nailed It! series and while each can be read as standalone, the pleasure is doubled by reading all of them.
Despite being best friends Milo and Mungo come from different worlds. The first, learned as a child what it meant to survive in a world where nobody gives you anything, and Mungo was raised by a loving family, which perhaps left him somewhat unprotected against those who have no scruples in hurting you. They both loved each other deeply, but Milo didn't trust love, causing him to turn down the chance to be with Mungo, until it was too late and Mungo decided to move on.
Mungo began then a relationship with a man who seemed perfect, until he ceased to be, and like any victim of abuse, he found himself in a vicious circle that was difficult to break. But when finally he did, the one who stood by his side, ready to mend not only his broken heart, but his battered body and hopeless soul, was none other than Milo. Little by little, they began to rebuild their friendship, and finally, to give themselves that opportunity they thought was lost.
As always, it is worth highlighting not only the side characters, but the protagonists of the previous books that reappear in this story and give it that necessary touch to make this book truly special.
I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
