Milo is struggling to make ends meet, working part-time at a store, while trying to raise his baby, Sara. He is a wonderful father, who spares no sacrifices to provide her with the best, and despite all the tragedies he experienced and the contempt of his own community, which blames him for those same tragedies, he always tries to see the bright side of life. Since the first time he met Ellis, he has had a great crush, but his nerves betray him every time he sees him, besides, he feels that next to Ellis, he is not worth much.
Ellis has also suffered his own, betrayed by an ex. He moved to Stillwater to start over, determined not to get involved with anyone again, devoting all his time to his work as a teacher and helping the community in any way he can. But despite his resolve, every time he sees Milo, he feels that attraction that is getting harder to resist.
Until both, due to the proximity that they cannot avoid, end up falling into each other's arms.
Several things happen that can hinder their relationship, the age difference, the situation in their city, an unexpected visit, etc, but they realize that they are strong together and that nothing can stop them.
One thing I liked, is that once Milo gets over his nervousness and shyness, he shows how strong and capable he is, how determined when he wants something as much as he wants Ellis.
I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
