The Mercy Thompson series is one of my favorite urban fantasy, scratch that, one of my favorite series currently being published. I love Mercy and Adam, and almost the entire supporting cast. Each book is better than the previous one and builds on what came before, and partly culminates in Night Broken.

One of the things that I loved about this book was that Patricia Briggs has found a way to balance new information and world building while still bringing back characters and concepts that were established in previous books. Characters and relationships are built and expanded, and new wrenches are thrown into the mix. From start to finish, there was never a point where the book lagged, and it was an exciting ride all the way to the end.
