The Guncle by Steven Rowley
5.0
I didn't know anything about this book other than a niece and nephew spend the summer with their Guncle (gay uncle). It is a heartwarming novel about love, grief, and other heavy topics, but it manages to stay mainly humorous. It shows how dealing with grief and healing from trauma is an ongoing process, part of a healthy life (vs running away and not dealing with one's feelings and existing, not thriving). Good for the soul!
