Edge of collapse

I picked this book while scrolling Amazon for Kindle Unlimited reads. It was a random choice for me but I was in the mood for something different and the blurb sounded really interesting.

The start of this one reminded me of the book/movie ‘Room’, Hannah is a woman who has been kidnapped and kept in a dingy basement away from her family. An EMP attack knocks out the power including the systems keeping her locked up and that’s her chance to run.

I was so ready for adventure. I was rooting for Hannah and then the story just started slowing down, the fast pace was gone and I was no longer on the edge of my seat. I was left with a cliffhanger and the question ‘Do I even bother reading the next one?’ But there are 7 books and if they are all like this one- I’m not sure it’s worth it.

The storyline was there, the characters were there but unfortunately I feel like it just didn’t come together in the way that I hoped.
