I had been looking forward to reading this classic for years and I was so disappointed by how incredibly sexist it is. Yes, the prose is gorgeous, but I found myself skimming through it, hoping there would be something more substantial after all the sexism, but no. It was everywhere and I’m just glad I’m done with this book and I never have to read it again.
