The last third of this book was so action-packed and exciting that I really can't wait to dive into the next one, which is saying something considering I read book #2 almost two years ago.

But really what elevated this book was the time invested in characters. We get three new POVs, all of who would be considered side characters from the standpoint of the first two books -- and while it took me a while to warm up to them, and occasionally I was bored in their chapters -- the character-building work of the first half really pays off in the conclusion.

And Holden, as always, remains a solid, lovable, and frustratingly stubborn main anchor to the series.
