Behind the Throne by K.B. Wagers

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
It just wasn't holding my interest. I didn't care about the plot. Primogeniture + 'but I don't wanna inherit!' has never, ever, ever been interesting to me, and it's even less interesting here since there's an alternative cousin who's perfectly happy to inherit if our narrator disappears. The angsting over having power over people who will do whatever you say, even to the point of killing their partners, is unconvincing when those identical people kidnapped you to bring you back home to inherit the throne. Also, there seems to be some romance brewing between the narrator and her bodyguard, and it looks like it's going to be very boring.

Conceivably things could be pretty awesome if our narrator taps into her roguish gunrunning past to run rings around her opponents, but I'm almost a third of the way into the book and there's no sign of that yet. Also, gunrunners are kind of morally reprehensible, so I'm not really on board with that either in a main character.
