Krigsdagböcker 1939-1945 by Astrid Lindgren

4.0

This was a little bit of a different read since it was a collection of diary entries from one of Sweden’s most beloved authors rather than her usual work. It was really interesting to hear about the war from the perspective of a Swede since one doesn’t often hear much about what was happening in Northern Europe during WW2. I was surprised by how much the Swedes feared the Russians during the war even more so than the Nazis. It was also cool to hear about the early success of Lindgren as an author as she was publishing her famous Pippi Longstocking books at the end of the war.
