Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell

4.0

Who knew that following the events of a female led, small and sleepy English community would be such a delight? Not that I’m hugely surprised - this is Elizabeth Gaskell after all and she can write these sorts of things so well. I do prefer her longer works with stronger plots, but Cranford is quick, atmospheric and funny at times, well worth a read.
