Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland by Patrick Radden Keefe

4.0

Right after I graduated high school in the mid 80s, my mom & I visited Ireland on a bike tour. We stayed in at least 5 different cities and I had no idea what was going on in the country at that time. I was completed ignorant of any of the unrest.
This book was difficult to read, not just because of the horrific murders and violence, but also because the writing jumps around a lot and there are so many names. I was often lost and had to reread sections multiple times. Perhaps it would have been better if I wasn't so ignorant of the Troubles. It took so long to tie in the disappearance at the beginning.
All that said, I learned so much.
