Sixth Grave on the Edge by Darynda Jones
4.0
By now, Charley's adventures, although still surprising and exciting, are becoming familiar in a comfortable way.
Reyes figures much more in this book, thankfully, and their relationship is as hot as ever. Also glad to see Garrett more, helping Charley and Reyes by working on prophecies he received from the devil while he was in Hell.
The attraction between Cookie and "Robert", uncle Bob, is a cool side story, and Amber and the deaf boy are also cute. I love how the dead girl he sees puts Charley on the path to find her killer, and how she then marks the child's abusive mother for Hell.
What didn't make a lot of sense was her ongoing unwillingness to answer Reyes' marriage proposal, which of course she's going to say yes to. What's hilarious is the way Reyes takes down the wall between their bedrooms, in effect giving them one big place.
The main mystery of finding the woman in the witness protection program was somewhat lost in the shuffle, but again, lots of good twists in why and how things happen. Looking forward to the next book.
