How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits by Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret, Anne Berest
4.0
This was a fun and quick read. There are a lot of the practical advice that can be applied by any women and that I’ve heard many times before (merci Maman!) but I also enjoyed the quirkiness the authors weaved into their book. It’s a shame that many didn’t seem to understand this book as satire; the funny, ridiculous and pretentious bits aren’t meant to be taken seriously. In fact, the authors seem to play with the notion of what we outsiders (North Americans mainly) assume about French women. This book is meant to entertain and to remind the reader to not take life so seriously. If some didn’t get that, tant pis!
