The Christmas Pic by Rena Sapon-White, Ella Schaefer
2.0
The Christmas Pic started so well. Like someone else mentioned, it felt like an early 00s holiday romcom movie. But then something happened to the story and it spiraled downwards.
The naivety of 30+ adult women and throwing money away carelessly is not my cup of tea.
Also the writing or editing was lacking. The story felt like dotted line, every so often a piece or sentence or binding bit was missing. I had to go back and re-read scenes a lot because I realized something didn't add up. After re-reading I usually realized there wasn't anything I had missed. It just wasn't there. The spicy scenes were also... either oddly written or just lacking quality. I would rather read fade to black than poor scenes.
The Christmas Pic is light and simple holiday romance that is fairly quick read.
