Becoming by Michelle Obama

i thought this book was okay. everyone i talked to who has read it told me that it was amazing, but i can't lie lmao i found it really boring for 90% of the book. the whole time it just felt like i was listening to a boring stretched out story of her life (even though that's literally what a memoir is), but it just was not displayed in a way that was interesting to me. i don't know if it's because i'm not very interested in american politics or law, which takes up a lot of the book, but i just wasn't able to connect to it. the part that i actually did like was the last 2 hours or so of the book (i listened to it on audible) because it was really interesting to hear about her stories in the white house and her role as a first lady and also a mother.

i understand the value of this book for other people though, like it's clear that michelle obama's story is very very inspirational and she is an amazing person who has done so much good and worked so hard to achieve her dreams. there's nothing actually wrong with this book that i can criticise, i guess i just didn't enjoy it that much because of a personal thing, so no hate to her at all lmao i think she's a queen; this one just wasn't for me :)
