A sötétség bűvölete by Elisabetta Gnone

To me this book suffers a bit form the middle book syndrome, I just didn't enjoy it as much as the first one. First of all, we get 2 stories, one in the present with the twins, and the story of the Ancient Book. The latter would be good, if it actually went somewhere, but it ends at an awkward moment, leaving more disappointment than actual suspense. All the while auntie stressing at every turn how it's the most important story of Fairy Oak. If that's all the story we learn, it's mighty little to call it the most important story ever.
I would've liked if there was more actual story and meaning to the Ancient Book, if we spent so much of the book centered around it. And of course, the twins are still not acting like 10-year-olds, which is just so off-putting. My mind keeps trying to age them up, then at some point we get a reference to their ages again, and I'm bumped out of the story.
Also, the Enemy shows up on June 21, and the last book concludes with December 21. The twins were born October 31, and we get nothing about their birthdays, celebrations, not even a mention, in this book or the next. I felt like that was sorely missing, especially if they are supposed to be so young.
