♡ Review: Women by Chloe Caldwell ♡⁣

A good friend of mine let me borrow this book and swore up and down it was one of the best book she had ever read. And then I devoured it in two sittings. Not super hard when the book is like 130 pages long, but what I’m trying to say is that I enjoyed it. ⁣

This book is about a woman’s first romantic relationship with another woman and coming to terms with her sexuality. It spoke to me on such a deeply personal level. I came out ~officially~ last summer to good friends and family and even though I feel confident in my sexuality it is still sometimes hard to navigate, especially with friends and family who have only ever exclusively known me as straight. Identifying as bisexual has a whole slew of other issues because a lot of people just can’t seem to understand “how you can like both”. It’s been weird and hard and it’s not something I talk about a lot. ⁣

However, reading this book helped me feel validated in my own sexuality and that was something so powerful for me. The writing is raw, straightforward, introspective and emotional. It resonated with me deeply and I was able to see myself reflected in the main character. ⁣

I feel strong and confident in myself as a woman and I am learning to be strong and confident in my sexuality as well, but it’s hard. I’m so thankful for the friend who lent me this book (because she understood that it would help me understand myself) and for authors like Caldwell who are able to practice the highest form of vulnerability by writing about their romantic relationships in such an unguarded way. So happy I picked up this book and highly recommend to anyone and everyone. ♡♡♡♡♡/5. ⁣
