Summerwater by Sarah Moss
5.0
Set in a rural Scottish cabin park during the rainiest of weeks, Summerwater is the compilation of twelve viewpoints, each written as stream of consciousness. That coupled with the audiobook format makes it really feel like you’re hearing the inner thoughts of the characters, which are eerily believable. As always, Sarah Moss is exquisite at describing family dynamics and she subtly brings up a mix of current topics from climate change to Brexit and racism. It has been a long while since I’ve read anything this immersive and I think Summerwater is my new favorite from Moss. I can see myself reading it every summer from now on - the atmosphere and tension building is something I'll certainly want to experience again.
