Lieberman's Day by Stuart M. Kaminsky

5.0

This not a 5-star book like Citizen Kane is a 5-star film, but it is 5-star to me.

I grew up reading Kaminsky’s Toby Peters novels and re-read them as an adult, where that one leaned into humor, this series three books in, leans into melancholy and, I am overjoyed to find my road trip with Kaminsky’s work is far from over.

Kaminsky was ridiculously prolific a writer, and underrated.

For someone looking for a read that feels like a dark episode of your favorite 1970s detective show, this is the series for you and me.
