2 stars feels generous.
I had zero expectations and this book just blew my mind, in the worst way.
Runaway princess in rebel territory sounds good.. but the execution of this story was abhorent. We got minimal back story and no real chance to love the characters. They're first smutty encounter was borderline SA. Made me sick to my stomach.. Dacre was fully drunk and jealous but we got no real info about that. He stared at Nyra, and was so conflicted that he got drunk and basically SA her.. but they play it off like she wanted it.. It was overly aggressive.
The last couple chapters were just a lot of random "hook ups" with no real build up (if at all possible after that first encounter..). Nyra gets drunk next for this one and she begs him on her knees.. at his demand... and if you think that's bad, he reveals he knows her secret mid thrust... I just cant. So disappointing.
