The Spellmaster of Tutting-on-Cress by Sarah Wallace

4.0

This was very sweet. I liked both characters, and the inclusion of POVs from other characters. Basil's relationship with his father made me tear up a few times.

Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ending though - while the book is very long, the ending was just too abrupt for my tastes.
SpoilerI'm not a fan of romance stories that end on the characters confessing their love to each other, kissing, or asking each other out for the first time as the very last scene - I prefer when characters do that earlier in the story, so they're actually together for at least the last quarter of the book. Having them finally confess their feelings for each other and then the book ends just feels like an incomplete story to me, because I want to actually see characters BE together.
