Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

"I'm not some silly fool who can't protect herself or use her head!"

I absolutely loved this book. It was addictive. I found myself laughing at just how much Dorian and Chaol struggled to watch her actually do her job. It was like they just couldn't comprehend that the assassin was in fact murdering people for the king like she was told. I think my favorite thing about Celaena is that she plays by her own rules; she's a survivor and does whatever it takes to survive. She doesn't want any part in the conflicts brewing in the kingdom she just wants her freedom. I admire her for it because she doesn't try to pretend like she is anyone or anything else.

I loved watching the characters become more developed in this one. It was nice to see some other sides to them. Even if it does make it hard to decide whose team I should be on. We get a lot of new information in this one and I swear I still don't fully understand the grand scheme of things, but I'm sure it's coming. It's really clear that the King is doing something shady with all that Celaena manages to uncover in this one. I just await the day Dorian and Chaol accept that Celaena is more powerful than they give her credit for. A lot of secrets which can change everthing get uncovered in this one... not to mention the giant cliffhanger ending... Basically I loved everything.
