The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: The Untold Story of a Lost World by Stephen Brusatte

Really enjoyed this. The description of the landscapes, dinosaurs, and scientists intersperse with the science itself making the tone vary in an excellent way. It was pitched at a good level for me as a dinosaur enthusiast, not too basic but also not a full blown textbook. What surprised me the most was how much I loved the chapter on T-Rex 🦖! I always felt having T-Rex as your favourite dinosaur was a bit 'basic', but it was an absolutely extraordinary animal and so precisely built for its niche.

As the title suggests, it describes the rise of the dinosaurs and their fall, as well as their jurassic heyday. I found the early dinosaur evolution chapter very interesting too! Just, all round, a really good informative pop sci book!
