Bloody Summer by Carmen Maria Machado
5.0
This book had me so absorbed that I did something that I never do; as soon as the story was over, I rewound and started it over again. It was completely entrancing. I nearly found myself googling Never-Again to see if this was based on anything real. Machado is a master of the short story. If I had one complaint, it's that the interview wasn't done with two voice actors, and really that's just being greedy.
