An adorable book full of colorful characters and entertaining antics, An Irish Country Doctor is the perfect read for anyone interested in rural Irish life. Barry was a bit of an eejit when it came to his relationship with Patricia and, while I understand the book is set in a different time, I should have liked more of the characters to recognize the sexism permeating their village and to help Kinky with the food once in a while. Overall, though, this was a delightful read. I first read it on a trip to Ireland, but even on my second read (at home in America) it was just as enjoyable.
