I have a lot of thoughts about this book and they’re all lovely and tender and sweet as pecan pie. Or donuts.

Eve discovers she’s pregnant after a one-night stand with a hot bartender. She’s stunned, but decides to keep her baby.

When she tells her bestie, it doesn’t go exactly as she anticipated. There are a lot of emotions in this whole situation including discussion of infertility. Then bestie’s brother, Shep, comes in and he’s kind and enthusiastic to Eve. Exactly what she needed.

Now she’s off to tell the hot bartender, Ethan, that he’s helped make a baby with her. Bestie was supposed to go with her, but she didn’t and sent Shep instead. Shep, the adorable goofball, clumsy and darling, gives Eve and Ethan the time to talk, but is on standby if needed.

Things are complicated with Ethan. In the time since the hookup with Eve, he’s gotten back together with his ex. Yikes.

So, this is the story of an unexpected pregnancy and all the people supporting Eve and how Eve comes to fall in love with her child, create her beautiful found family, reconnect with her brothers, and realize the man she wants has been waiting all their lives for her to see him.

The slow burn is gorgeous. The payoff is delectable.

The writing is impeccable and the feelings she wrought are big and illuminating. Kudos to @carabastone for writing such a wonderfully amazing, delightful book!
